Great opportunity for a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly successful business that provide innovative, bespoke solutions for their customers



The Manufacturing Engineer will join our Factory Team in support of the Production Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer will have sole responsibility for running and maintaining a dedicated canning line to achieve operational Key Performance Indicators.

  • Overseeing the day to day running of the canning line when on shift
  • Maximizing the canning line output whilst ensuring product quality and integrity
  • Carrying out the required testing and Quality Assurance analysis of finished products
  • Developing training plans to enable Production Technicians to perform basic, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Developing an effective change over procedure
  • Ensuring products are produced to the highest possible quality standards and comply with all Customs & Excise and Trading Standards requirements
  • Assisting the Production Manager in the management and control of costs
  • Reviewing all hygiene and Continuous Improvement Plan procedures and ensuring they are followed at all times
  • Identifying and implementing a continuous training and development program
  • Recommending, supporting, and introducing performance and efficiency initiatives
  • Ensuring all documentation and recording systems are maintained to a high standard on a daily basis, and in line with ISO 9001:2000
  • Maintaining a high degree of both product, and personal safety, in accordance with HSE, EHO and HMCE requirements, through the effective implementation of risk assessment controls and HACCAP (Hazards Analysis of Critical Control Points) measures



You will need to have experience in the following areas:

  • Experience of running and maintaining a Canning Line (essential)
  • Full indentured apprenticeship and/or HND Engineer Level qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years employment as an Engineer with a comprehensive knowledge of most plant and associated procedures
  • First Line Management ILM Level 2 or equivalent
  • Excellent computer-based skills to include the use of Microsoft Office and SAP or equivalent
  • Awareness of HACCP, VACCP, TACCP
  • Ability to carry out offload analysis
