We are looking for a very strong candidate with food to go experience that can take control of the shift and drive improvements in GMP, productivity and food quality.

OUR CLIENT is a privately owned, well-established manufacturer of a wide variety of ready to eat food products, supplying major multiple retailers and food service companies.

THE EARLY SHIFT PRODUCTION MANAGER will report in to Head of Operations and will be responsible for providing leadership and operational support in managing teams of operatives to achieve optimum levels of efficiency whilst producing a quality product.

As Production Manager you will be responsible for overall factory operation and you will need to liaise with Engineering, Technical, Hygiene and Logistics. Outside of office hours you will be the most senior person on site so you will need to be able to make calculated decisions by liaising with all functions where necessary.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan staff resources to cover anticipated workload on a shift basis
  • Set production targets for shift output, ensuring they are achievable and that staff are informed of requirements.
  • Ensure production processes meet internal quality standards, and that due diligence is applied at all times to the manufacture of products.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE absolutely must have experience in a similar Production Management role in a food factory. On top of this you will need:

  • Chilled Food To Go/Sandwiches Experience
  • Strong experience in a BRC accredited operation.
  • Experience of leading and developing a team of at least 50.
  • To be able to motivate staff and get the best from your team.
  • Health & Safety skills
  • Food Hygiene experience.
