Reporting to the NPD Manager the successful candidate will support the NPD Technologists in the preparation of NPD samples and aid in the hand over from NPD to Production on launch.


OUR CLIENT Is a vibrant, fast growing manufacturer of premium snack foods, supplying most of the major multiple retailers, both with branded and retailer own-label products.


  • Preparation of NPD samples as briefed by the NPD Technologist in line with the customer brief
  • Submission of current lines to new/existing customers as briefed by the Commercial department.
  • Keeping accurate up to date electronic records of all samples sent to customers to include dates/sample submission number/recipes/process parameters.
  • Maintain the library of raw materials specifically logging all approved flavours/pellets.
  • Aid in running sensory panels for new products and on consistency panels.
  • Ensuring Factory trial forms are completed to include sign off by all departments of organoleptic/product attributes prior to final submission to customer.
  • Assist in Factory trials to ascertain correct packaging size based on using existing equipment where possible and limitations imposed by customer. Ensure feasibility with Production prior to finalizing packaging sizes ensuring economy of scale where practically possible.
  • Overseeing 1st production with the Technologist to ensure product is in line with the customer approved QAS


We’re looking for a candidate that shows enthusiasm, initiative and is well-organised and reliable. However, the following basic skills would be an advantage –

  • Having plenty of initiative and common sense as well as a willing to take on different tasks and generally get involved.
  • Strong IT (good excel knowledge) and communication skills will be essential – due to the nature of the role you will need to be confident in communicating with people face to face or over the phone.
  • Experience in a Technical or Development or Laboratory Environment
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • An ability to learn quickly in order to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the role and accompanying responsibilities
  • An ability to work efficiently and enthusiastically both as part of a team and individually.
